The only car rental in Crete that doesn’t charge you for different pick up and drop off location with the best deals you can find in the entire island. So If you need to travel in different airport on the island they are the best with city cars. If I return on Crete for sure I will choose them again.

So far, everything was great.

In March, the prices were among the lowest. I didn't have to pay in advance; I could pay in cash. Therefore, I didn't have to provide a credit card, and there was no deposit. This is fantastic because you usually don't get deposits back if you provide a credit card somewhere; the operators often charge you again. I booked directly with Autokreta, so I didn't have to pay for double insurance, as I would have if I had booked through a second or third-party provider, which is often the case with other providers in Crete, for example, if you book through check24.

So far, I'm satisfied. The only downside was that our child seat wasn't the one we had booked. It requires an Isofix, but the car we received didn't have one, so it came with a forward-facing child seat. However, we did get a better car overall.

The staff were friendly and helpful during pick-up and drop-off.

Reliable service provider. Vehicle in excellent condition. However, unsuitable for mountain roads due to insufficient power and therefore horsepower. Bring an adapter as Android didn't work on either of our phones, making navigation difficult without GPS.

We can wholeheartedly recommend Autokreta. Super friendly contact and quick responses. Initially, I was a little skeptical because of the very good reviews, but they're definitely well-deserved. Traveling abroad can often make you feel uncertain due to the different driving culture (we certainly do). This concern was immediately put to rest; the car was in perfect condition, and we were spared the hassle of documenting any scratches or damage. If something were to happen, even if it was someone else's fault, then "that's just how it is." We would simply have had to report such damage to them – everything was insured. To be perfectly clear, you won't get ripped off here – everything was, as I said, pleasant and straightforward. We'll be insisting that all our acquaintances and friends who book Crete in the future book with them. It really couldn't be better!

We've been regular customers of Autotravel, formerly Autokreta, for years and have always been wonderfully looked after and cared for by them. The service, pricing, fully comprehensive insurance with no deductible, and vehicle fleet are all excellent (I usually drive a Polo). This year, it was a Peugeot 208, a comfortable car that once again took us around the entire island for three weeks. I would especially like to emphasize the friendly, German-speaking service. There's absolutely no reason to change this success story on our next trip to Crete!

Super hassle-free!
The location was easy to find, the lady from the company spoke excellent German, and gave us a very warm welcome. With a zero deductible on fully comprehensive insurance, there was nothing to worry about, and we were given the keys straight away. In mid-May, we rented a car for 10 days. The Fiat Panda was handed over to us at the hotel the day before at no extra charge. The car was clean, reliable, and had only done about 30,000 km. The drop-off and pick-up process was completely hassle-free. No deposit required. The insurance package is all-inclusive, so just hand over the keys at reception. Very good value for money. The fuel policy – as agreed – is OK, although full to full would be better. I recommend the company without reservation.

Everything was perfect. I booked through Autokreta.de. The communication beforehand was clear, friendly, and hassle-free. I was able to pay half of the rental price upfront via PayPal, instead of having to bring everything in cash upon pick-up.
The price was fair and, despite the all-inclusive package, significantly cheaper than with the larger providers.
Pick-up was also smooth and quick, as was return with the key box.
The rented Fiat Panda was absolutely fine. One parking light bulb was broken, but that's something you can probably overlook...

I'll definitely use Autokreta.de again on my next visit to Crete! Efcharisto.

After bad experiences with the typical large low-cost providers, we simply asked the small company by email, but our special requests such as USB and Aux were still taken into account at a great price. In April 2025, I used a car for 8 days in Crete, rented in Chania and returned in Heraklion. Two-step booking (I decided to change the car shortly before departure) without additional costs and very friendly. Both the collection of the car and the return were lightning fast and stress-free. The car in very good condition performed excellently on the Cretan mountain roads. Next time in Crete, I will definitely use the nice services of Autotravel again. I like the company's principles: a low fee for returning at another airport, full insurance and car rental also for drivers over eighty.

We chose Autocrete based on a recommendation. I chose a car from home in the spring and agreed on a handover date at the end of August. He arrived at the hotel on time in the morning, prepared a short report and parked himself in the large car park at Chania airport a week later. Handed in the key at the service and over to the airport.
The entire process was extremely easy and without much fanfare.
In Crete we will always use Auto Crete.

Fantastic service from start to finish. Nothing really seemed too much trouble. Our flight was late and we had no way of contacting the team but they waited until late for us to arrive. The car was just what we’d asked for. No one was inspecting areas of the car it was just a case of ‘here’s the keys, enjoy your holiday’ - what more could you ask for?
