General Terms and Rental Conditions
We would like to inform you about our car rental terms and conditions. Please read them carefully. Autotravel.gr assumes no responsibility for a lack of understanding or knowledge of the rental terms on the part of the customer.

General Rental Conditions:
AGE AND DRIVER’S LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
The driver must have held a valid European driver’s license for at least 12 months before the rental period begins and must present the original license at pick-up. Renting a vehicle without a valid license is not allowed and will result in a cancellation fee.
- To rent small cars, you must be at least 21 years old.
- To rent larger vehicles, SUVs, or convertibles, the minimum age is 24.
VEHICLE MODELS:
We reserve the right to replace reserved vehicles with comparable models if the selected vehicle is unavailable. While we cannot guarantee specific brands, we always provide a comparable car or an upgrade to a higher category.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Once a booking is confirmed, it is binding. By completing the booking, the renter agrees to the following cancellation terms:
- Free Cancellation: Cancellations up to 24 hours before the rental period begins are free of charge. Payments already made will be fully refunded.
- Late Cancellation Fee: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the rental period will incur a €100 processing fee, deducted from any prepayment or charged at pick-up.
- No-Show Policy: Failure to show up or collect the vehicle without proper cancellation will result in the full rental cost being charged, with no refunds for unused services.
Cancellations and changes must be made in writing, either via email or by post to the address provided in the booking confirmation.
In case of unforeseen circumstances affecting the rental, customers are encouraged to contact us as early as possible to discuss alternatives.
The provider reserves the right to adjust the cancellation terms in exceptional cases. Renters will be informed promptly in such situations.
Refunds are not available for early returns or partial cancellations. However, renters may propose a replacement driver, subject to approval.
FUEL POLICY:
- Part to Part: The car is provided with a specific fuel level (e.g., ¼ tank) and must be returned with the same amount.
- Full to Empty: The car is provided with a full tank and must be returned empty. Fuel costs are payable upon collection, in addition to the rental price.
CHILD SEATS:
Child seats must be booked in advance. Customers are responsible for selecting the appropriate size based on their child’s weight and height. Pre-booking ensures availability, as suitable seats may not be available at pick-up without prior arrangement.
INSURANCE:
Our rental prices include comprehensive insurance for added security and peace of mind during your trip. However, some exclusions apply:
Included Insurance Types:
- Liability and Fire Insurance (LI): Property damage and personal injury coverage up to €1,220,000.
- Collision Damage Waiver (CDW).
- Fully Comprehensive Insurance with No Deductible (SCDW).
- Vandalism, Fire, and Electrical Damage Insurance with No Deductible (VA).
- Tire, Undercarriage, and Windshield Damage Insurance with No Deductible (WUG).
- Theft Protection with No Deductible (TP).
- Passenger Insurance with No Deductible (PAI).
Exclusions:
- Negligence or reckless behavior.
- Unreported damages (all damages must be reported immediately by phone).
- Damage caused by driving on unpaved roads, even with 4×4 vehicles.
- Damage due to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Damage caused by opening car doors during strong winds.
- Loss or damage to car keys (cost of replacement and towing will apply).
- Damage to the interior or severe dirt (e.g., sand in the car).
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE RENTER:
The renter must treat the vehicle with care, follow operational instructions, and adhere to traffic regulations. This includes:
- Monitoring warning lights and vehicle temperatures.
- Locking the car securely when not in use.
- Adhering to local traffic laws.
Smoking and transporting pets in the vehicle are prohibited without prior approval. Fines, including administrative fees, will be charged for violations.
TIRE DAMAGE POLICY:
The renter must be able to change a tire if needed. Roadside assistance is not provided for tire changes. However, financial damages are covered under the tire insurance. After contacting us for approval, the renter can have the tire repaired at the nearest service station and charge the cost to us.
Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) for the “Best Price Guarantee”
- The “Best Price Guarantee” applies exclusively to car rental bookings made through our website or booking hotline.
- To claim the “Best Price Guarantee,” you must provide an identical offer from another provider, including all relevant details such as vehicle type, rental duration, location, insurance options, and any additional fees.
- The competing offer must still be available and bookable at the time of verifying the “Best Price Guarantee.”
- The “Best Price Guarantee” is only valid for offers from domestic providers and does not apply to offers from online auction sites or aggregator websites displaying deals from multiple providers.
- The “Best Price Guarantee” can only be claimed once per booking.
- To claim the “Best Price Guarantee,” you must contact us within 24 hours of booking. We will review the competitor’s offer and, if it meets all requirements, adjust the price of your booking accordingly.
- If you claim the “Best Price Guarantee,” we reserve the right to cancel your booking and offer you the new, lower price.
- We reserve the right to modify or terminate the “Best Price Guarantee” at any time without affecting your statutory rights.
- These terms are governed by German and Greek law.
