The process was incredibly smooth. I reserved the car online. On the day of pickup, it only took 10 minutes and I was ready to go. Returning the car was also hassle-free. Perhaps the only suggestion for improvement: if you receive a vehicle without a USB port, it would be helpful to be able to get a 12V adapter for a deposit.

Outstanding service from the Autotravel team in Crete. I made a mistake with the dates of the booking and the team were happy to amend my booking and get a new car at the last minute. They even offered to drop the car off at my hotel which saved me a taxi ride to the airport. I was then able to drop the car keys off overnight at the airport, no issues. The staff we spoke to were very friendly, and were happy to communicate with us in English.

The car was in great driving condition. We only had the car for a day and covered over 200km in the car on highways, mountain roads, cities, and small villages. It felt very safe and reliable.

Excellent value for money with the included full insurance package too. Wouldn't book through anybody else in Crete in future!

We were particularly impressed with how they handled a minor issue with our rental car: our windshield wipers weren't working properly. Even though we were at the beach, the staff came to our location and took care of it immediately. You really don't experience that kind of service everywhere!

This is how car rental should be!

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience with CarJet a year ago and were quite let down. So this year, the positive difference with Auto Kreta was all the greater!

From start to finish, everything was quick, straightforward, and completely seamless. No hidden traps, no unpleasant surprises, and above all, exceptionally friendly and courteous service. We especially appreciated that all the staff speak excellent German – this made the entire process even more pleasant.

We received a warm welcome upon pickup and were even greeted with a bottle of water. 😊 After that, it was simply a matter of paying, getting in, and driving off. Returning the car was just as easy and hassle-free.

This is exactly how car rental should be everywhere! 👍

Great! We had the car for a week, and it was very affordable (by German standards) for a rental car. You can drive as much as you like. There's no mileage limit. Of course, you have to pay for fuel occasionally, but the little runabout we had was really fuel-efficient, so we only had to fill up 1.5 times for almost 3,000 km. Unfortunately, the car didn't have much horsepower, which was a bit of a problem at first on the steep roads. But you get used to it.

Returning the car was also very easy and quick. We would definitely rent a car there again. Best regards!

If you need a rental car in Crete, you should book here! The process is straightforward, and best of all, this is a German-speaking car rental company. That means no communication barriers! The prices are also really great, and everyone can find the right vehicle. The booked car is even delivered to and picked up from your hotel.

Autokreta also offers an all-inclusive package, so you don't have to worry about a thing. Everything is truly covered!

Unfortunately, today is our last day in Crete, but if we vacation here again, which will definitely happen, we will absolutely book our rental car with this company again!

Payment is also incredibly easy. You can pay everything in cash on site (no credit card needed), or you can pay half by credit or debit card and the rest in cash when your chosen vehicle is delivered to your hotel. When returning the car, simply leave the car key at reception; the person who will pick it up will collect it and take the car. This way, you can simply continue your vacation by the pool or on the beach on the return date.

We booked our vehicle (Toyota Yaris Diesel) through the car rental company's website (Autokreta.de).

The three of us spent ten days in Crete and rented a Hyundai i20 from Auto Kreta. We were completely satisfied with the entire process and the service!

We were warmly greeted by two very friendly employees upon pickup. The handover was straightforward, and we received a thorough introduction to the vehicle. We especially appreciated that we each received a bottle of water upon pickup – a really nice touch given the warm temperatures in Crete! 😊

The all-inclusive package was particularly convenient: comprehensive insurance, underbody protection, and other coverages were already included, as were unlimited mileage. Furthermore, we didn't have to pay a deposit, which made the rental even simpler. This allowed us to explore Crete without worrying about additional costs, mileage, or insurance coverage.

We were also very happy with our Hyundai i20. A bit more engine power would have been nice on Crete's sometimes hilly roads, but the vehicle was perfectly adequate for the three of us and reliably got us everywhere we needed to go for the entire ten days.

Returning the car after ten days was also completely straightforward and stress-free. The employee was very friendly, took possession of the vehicle, and then took care of everything else.

From the first day to the last, the service was very friendly, uncomplicated, and reliable. We would book a rental car with Auto Kreta again anytime and can wholeheartedly recommend them!

We booked this agency at the last minute after leaving the airport, and everything was perfect, from the welcome and service to the quality of the brand-new car and the return process.

I rented a small car from July 16, 2026, to August 1, 2026. An agency representative met me at the Chania airport and accompanied me to the nearby parking lot to pick up the car, a Hyundai i10 with approximately 65,000 kilometers on the odometer.
The car was very clean, and the offer included full insurance coverage.
The value for money was excellent, and the rental cost did not require a credit card deposit. Payment was made in cash: half upon booking and the remainder upon collection. Returning the car is completely independent, parking it in the same lot where it was picked up, and the keys must be handed over to a security guard.

The seller was helpful and spoke Czech, and even picked us up at a hotel two kilometers from the rental. However, the rental car was a disaster, when we were told after payment that the steering wheel was difficult to turn. The car had a steering problem, the power steering did not work at all, and the front axle and shock absorbers were also long past their best.

I traveled a lot and I rented a car almost everywhere but I never got amazing service as with Autotravel. Everything went smooth, the stuff are so nice and helpful. When we had delayed with our flight they gave us a car, free of charge for extra few hours. Their prices were cheap and included Everything, no extras when you collect the car. It was very easy to contact them when we had the trouble with the flight.

We are very satisfied with Autotravel. The service was fast and flawless – they were waiting for us right outside the airport when we arrived, and returning the car at 5:30 AM was super easy (we just left the keys in the office box). Everything went perfectly smoothly, with absolutely no deposits or hidden costs.
As for the car, it was a slightly older Toyota Yaris. Honestly, an older car is much better for destinations like Crete! You don't have to stress at all about every single tiny scratch, dust, or stone chip on those island roads. The car was also fitted with very good, healthy tyres, which made us feel safe on the mountain roads. We had the diesel version, and it was incredibly economical! It got us everywhere we wanted to go without any issues. It's a small car, so it was very convenient for driving – you can easily squeeze into any parking spot and navigate narrow streets.

No hassles or hidden defects. The price paid on the website includes comprehensive insurance covering all parts of the vehicle, unlimited mileage, no additional fees to expect on-site, and no bank deposit required.

I had exchanged emails and phone calls to ask my questions before booking. The team was very responsive, and everything was clear.
The rental location is a 2-minute walk from the airport exit.

We rented a Toyota Aygo X for 9 days. The car was returned in perfect condition, very clean, and had approximately 15,000 km on the odometer.

It matched the car we had reserved on their website. FYI: It was a gasoline car, and the average price per liter is currently €1.98. With the mountain roads, it consumes quite a bit of fuel, so plan to fill up fairly often 😉.

On the day of our arrival, they greeted us with two small bottles of chilled water. They speak excellent English, the whole process took only five minutes, no endless paperwork, just a complete check of the car with the woman who greeted us. She gave us the keys and the rental confirmation (in case of a check).

On the day of our return, we parked the car on-site. No paperwork to sign, no checks to perform; they simply checked the fuel level, and we returned the keys.

After a bad experience in Corfu last year with some rather unscrupulous car rental companies, it's a relief to be able to travel with Autokreta without any worries.

The two of us rented the blue automatic Polo for a week. The car was perfectly adequate for two large suitcases and two pieces of hand luggage. With full insurance coverage, we were 100% protected.

The car drove well; we had absolutely no problems and were glad we opted for an automatic, especially given the hilly and sometimes steep roads. A full tank at the nearby gas station cost us about €65.

The staff at reception were incredibly friendly and gave us helpful tips before we set off.

In short, we would definitely come back! It was absolutely worth it.

Towards the end of our holiday, we suddenly got a flat tire (two screws had gotten into it), but even that was handled without any problems. A spare tire and tools were in the car, so we changed the tire ourselves and returned it the next day with the spare – no issue at all. Excellent value for money, highly recommended. So far, everything was great.

In March, the prices were among the lowest. I didn't have to pay in advance; I could pay in cash. Therefore, I didn't have to provide a credit card, and there was no deposit. This is fantastic because you usually don't get deposits back if you provide a credit card somewhere; the operators often charge you again. I booked directly with Autokreta, so I didn't have to pay for double insurance, as I would have if I had booked through a second or third-party provider, which is often the case with other providers in Crete, for example, if you book through check24.

So far, I'm satisfied. The only downside was that our child seat wasn't the one we had booked. It requires an Isofix, but the car we received didn't have one, so it came with a forward-facing child seat. However, we did get a better car overall.

The staff were friendly and helpful during pick-up and drop-off.

We can wholeheartedly recommend Autokreta. Super friendly contact and quick responses. Initially, I was a little skeptical because of the very good reviews, but they're definitely well-deserved. Traveling abroad can often make you feel uncertain due to the different driving culture (we certainly do). This concern was immediately put to rest; the car was in perfect condition, and we were spared the hassle of documenting any scratches or damage. If something were to happen, even if it was someone else's fault, then "that's just how it is." We would simply have had to report such damage to them – everything was insured. To be perfectly clear, you won't get ripped off here – everything was, as I said, pleasant and straightforward. Everything was perfect. I booked through Autokreta.de. The communication beforehand was clear, friendly, and hassle-free. I was able to pay half of the rental price upfront via PayPal, instead of having to bring everything in cash upon pick-up.
The price was fair and, despite the all-inclusive package, significantly cheaper than with the larger providers.
Pick-up was also smooth and quick, as was return with the key box.
The rented Fiat Panda was absolutely fine. One parking light bulb was broken, but that's something you can probably overlook...

I'll definitely use Autokreta.de again on my next visit to Crete! Efcharisto.

We booked our rental car for the second time with "Autotravel," a German-speaking car rental company in Crete, and were once again absolutely delighted. Everything went perfectly! The car was as described. The handover took place on time, and when an unforeseen problem arose with the car during the stay, it was replaced immediately. Best car rental experience ever! After bad experiences with the typical large low-cost providers, we simply asked the small company by email, but our special requests such as USB and Aux were still taken into account at a great price. Completely unproblematic processing, all inclusive and the whole thing without a credit card deposit. We will book here again!

In April 2025, I used a car for 8 days in Crete, rented in Chania and returned in Heraklion. Two-step booking (I decided to change the car shortly before departure) without additional costs and very friendly. Both the collection of the car and the return were lightning fast and stress-free. The car in very good condition performed excellently on the Cretan mountain roads. Next time in Crete, I will definitely use the nice services of Autotravel again. I like the company's principles: a low fee for returning at another airport, full insurance and car rental also for drivers over eighty.

We chose Autocrete based on a recommendation. I chose a car from home in the spring and agreed on a handover date at the end of August. He arrived at the hotel on time in the morning, prepared a short report and parked himself in the large car park at Chania airport a week later. Handed in the key at the service and over to the airport.
The entire process was extremely easy and without much fanfare.
In Crete we will always use Auto Crete.

Fantastic service from start to finish. Nothing really seemed too much trouble. Our flight was late and we had no way of contacting the team but they waited until late for us to arrive. The car was just what we’d asked for. No one was inspecting areas of the car it was just a case of ‘here’s the keys, enjoy your holiday’ - what more could you ask for? We’d definitely use them again we’ve nothing bad to say.
